Balance the treasury
Use the research rate to divide commerce between science and gold. New cities add maintenance, so expansion has a cost.
Choose research
Open the Technology tab and select a discovery. Science generated each turn advances it and changes the era.
Manage production
Select one of your cities, open the City tab, and decide what building or unit should come next.
Reform civics
Choose among five civic categories. New systems unlock through research; a bundled reform costs one turn of city yields through anarchy.
Conduct diplomacy
Use trade missions to improve relations, negotiate open borders for commerce, or declare war when strategy demands it.
Advance the era
End the turn to collect yields, move production and research forward, hear an original turn cue, and let rivals act.

Major discoveries, city growth, civic reform, diplomacy, and conflict are recorded as your California history unfolds.
Independent fan project
This is an independent, fan-made California strategy-game experiment. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Firaxis Games, 2K, Take-Two Interactive, or the owners of the Civilization trademarks.
Its mechanics are inspired by classic 4X design, while all interface code and procedural sound effects are original to this project. No commercial Civilization audio is loaded.
